Embrace the little openings to make a change.

When I look back on my life, I’ve found that positive change happened in big moments and also the accumulation of small moments.

The big moments garnered quick change, shifted my mindset and helped me see things differently moving forward; most of these moments were unpredictable, but great when they happened.

The small moments were less radical, but more controllable. They were little intentions I made to try to listen more deeply. They were the intentions I made to not get caught up in road rage if someone cut me off. They were the reframings of negative experiences to moments that might have potential learning.

All of these moments were hard, and nothing big shifted. But over time, the accumulation of them has led to strong, lasting shifts in who I am and how I interact with the world.

They also helped ripen my mind to receive some of the bigger moments that might not have made the big shifts if it weren’t for the work of the small moments.

Look for little openings to make a change. These spaces are more magical than they appear.
