Equanimity:

When our mind lets go.

Equanimity represents a moment when our mind ceases to pull or push. It’s completely at ease with what is here. Restful, awake, knowing. And from personal experience, it’s an incredible space of mind to inhabit.

In this space of mind, you are still able to take action and make changes, but instead of it coming from a place of NEED, it comes from a place of inspiration. And you’re able to move through life with greater ease, groundedness and awareness.

Mindfulness practice helps us cultivate more moments of equanimity in life. We watch the mind get swept away by wants and aversions, and instead of fueling it, we get better at watching it. From that space, if we choose to engage in a want or aversion, we can. But we’re not enslaved to whatever the mind tells us to do.
