98% is hard. 100% is easy.
There’s a freedom and flow that comes when we are 100% committed to something, without doubt or hindrance. All of our energy can be directed fully.
The mind states of doubt and hesitation are exhausting and draining.
For the first 2 months of retreat in Burma, I was 98% committed. I knew I wanted to be there, but I still had some doubt about the teachings, my teacher and whether or not it was the right place for me.
After a certain point, I just surrendered and decided to trust the process. Immediately, there was more energy in my day, I was more excited about the meditation, my concentration and awareness deepened substantially, and I just felt more free. It was incredible.
As one of my mentors, Peter Cook, says: 98% is hard. 100% is easy.
Try picking one thing and commit to it fully. Taking out the trash, going to work, helping your child with homework. Surrender fully to it. Go all in. Trust that’s EXACTLY what you should be doing. You might be surprised how much freedom comes when you let go of resistance.
